Inspiration can strike at any time — but as Winnie the Pooh put it, “doing nothing often leads to the very best of something.”

Sure, press releases, social media, and current events can provide you with timely stories on trends, trials, and tribulations.

In fact, I’d say sites like Newswire and Cision’s PR Newswire are the second-best friends a journalist can have in this day and age (Google being number one on the list, obvi).

But sometimes the best stories strike when you aren’t nose deep in research or laughing away the pain with late-night talk shows.
