did it take all of your teeth just to hold back your tongue?

and extra wooly gloves just to hold back your thumbs?

Did you wash your mouth with alcohol just to burn off the words,
a heavy weighted silence to suffocate the verbs,

’cause actions speak louder than words,
syllables are often inconsolable,

but memories are malleable,
fragile, fleeting,

’till one day the scenes begin bleeding –
into one another,
