With The Burgundy Zine website launching just last month, I would like to thank you for the warm welcome and wish everyone a happy new year.
Although I had originally contemplated rebranding my pre-established photography website, Penelope Peru Photography (P³), as The Burgundy, I couldn’t be any happier with the decision to operate them as separate entities.
Rebranding Penelope Peru Photography would have meant redesigning the entire web page, rewriting content, as well as going through all 1.6k posts and updating any internal links. It also would have meant reformatting all of the P³ social media profiles, including the art Instagram page and Etsy shop.
Regardless of whether I chose to run two websites or not, I would have still had to purchase a second domain and kept penelopeperu.com as a URL that redirected to burgundyzine.com.
Going Forward

Going forward, I couldn’t be more excited about what’s to come in 2019 for The Burgundy Zine.
The theme of the first issue, which is scheduled for release on January 28, 2019, is Money.
Issue #1 will consist of articles on money, financial advice, and more. This zine will feature new content, as well as previous blog posts, including photostories.
Blogs will continue to be posted regularly throughout the year, including a new series called Tune in Tuesdays.
Tune in Tuesdays are weekly blogs posted every Tuesday highlighting songs and artists I’ve been listening to recently, as well as information on current events relevant to the music industry.
There will also be a weekly and monthly newsletter, highlighting the latest in news and entertainment along with a recap of what’s been posted on The Burgundy Zine. Interested in subscribing? Click here!
As always, The Burgundy Zine is always looking for new perspectives. If you are interested in submitting an article to be published as a blog or in an upcoming issue of The Burgundy Zine, please don’t be a stranger. Head on over to the submissions page!
