Little Wizard Sally Review

Staying true to its namesake, the player must use Sally’s wizardry to ward off ghosts, ghouls, vampires, and other monstrous villains in “Little Wizard Sally.”

The app utilizes three large buttons at the bottom of the screen labeled with “fire,” “water,” and “tornado” symbols. Enemies are defeated by pressing the buttons that correspond with the symbols above their heads.

Although the controls are simple, “Little Wizard Sally” becomes increasingly difficult as you defeat the mobs. Villains begin spawning faster with even more symbols above their head, keeping the player on their toes.

For as frustrating and as anxiety inducing later phases of the game may be, “Little Wizard Sally” is a blast. I highly recommend putting your thumbs and ability to think fast to the test with this downright adorable mobile app.

(Pro tip: Save your fever mode for bosses, such as the vampire boss. It will eliminate them and open up the opportunity for some bonus points – talk about a win-win situation!)

Bug’s Two Cents

Amidst finals week, putting together the fifth of The Burgundy Zine, exploring  Philadelphia, and beginning a new job, I just didn’t find myself with a whole lot of time to sit down and play video games – and when I did, I was still playing The Sims 4, as I was last month.

That’s what mobile apps are for, right? They are a brief break from the hustle and bustle of every day life, a filler, a way to keep your hands busy during an awkward social encounter.

“Little Wizard Sally” has quickly wriggled its way to the top of lil’ bug’s heart.

Initially lured in due to the app’s affiliation with Line Friends, this fast-paced game has kept me company on subways, trolleys, and busses alike. “Little Wizard Sally” is the perfect pocket pal.

Overall? I give the app 4.3 out of 5 wizard wands.
