Continuing our theme of culture for May’s issue of The Burgundy Zine, we were honored to feature posts from guest contributors about social media culture as well as tiny living culture.
We also reviewed Fabrice Midal’s “The French Art of Not Giving a Sh*t,” gave a few alternatives to the floral prints that plague workwear this time of the year, covered Prof. Hayley Nelson and Tiny Curry-Logan’s wellness webinar, explained the soda tax, and made a few updates to our email subscription system.
Weekly Recap
We began this week with a review of “The French Art of Not Giving a Sh*t: Cut the Crap and Live Your Life,” the self-help book by Fabrice Midal, a French meditation expert.
Then, XtaSeay and I reviewed White Sour by Grassroots for our Strain of the Week series.
On Tuesday, we tuned into the track “Champagne Galore” by Elujay, a Calif based rap artist.
On Wednesday, we vented our fashion frustrations and came up with a few work-appropriate alternatives to floral patterned blouses and trousers.
On Thursday, Chloe Fry delighted us with advice on how to be kinder to ourselves while dabbling in the realm of social media culture.
We also covered Prof. Hayley Nelson, P.h.D. and Tina Curry-Logan’s wellness webinar, which explored the physiological consequences of stress.
On Friday, we invited writers, artists, musicians, and other creatives alike to submit their work for the fifth issue of The Burgundy Zine, which will be released on May 28th.
On Saturday, we explained the soda tax that has cropped up in major cities around the globe.
Emily Barnes also gave us an excellent guide about taking van life for a spin.
Lastly, The Burgundy Zine finally rolled out some long overdue updates to our email subscription system. You can now customize which type of content you would like to receive email notifications for, yipee!
We also modified our email subscription messages to better reflect the tone of The Burgundy Zine.
Going Forward
Going forward, XtaSeay and I will be reviewing Blueberry Budder for this Sunday’s Strain of the Week.
Be sure to tune-in this Tuesday for a review of Gone Fishin’s latest singles, which are available on Spotify.
We are working on articles about Philadelphia culture as well as video game culture. If you’re from Philly, or if you’re a gamer, we want to speak to you.
Please contact us if you are interested in being interviewed for either article.
