CHOO-choo-ooo-oo-o…oo.oo. Well, bug buddies, it looks like our hype train has pulled aside for a pitstop. We’ve decided to conclude The Burgundy Zine Merch Store Kickstarter campaign early.
Those who have graciously pledged their support to The Burgundy Zine Merch Store Campaign will not be charged for their contribution. We will not receive any of the pledges from our Kickstarter campaign, either.
I’m going to be frank. It honestly feels like there couldn’t be a worse time to run a Kickstarter campaign – and I’m not saying that to start a pity party, but I’ve been holding off sharing news about the Kickstarter because there are far bigger, more relevant issues currently weighing on all of our minds.
It’s like a tug-o-war. We don’t want to let down our community by cutting our Kickstarter short, but we find it unethical to promote our own fundraising when you could be donating to The George Floyd Memorial Fund, your local bail fund, The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People Legal Defense Fund, and donate to the countless other victims of injustice.
We want you to support these organizations and individuals with us.
It’s with an incomparable level of giddy and excitement that we announce the launch of The Burgundy Zine Merch Store campaign on Kickstarter – seriously, editor burgundy bug was clapping like a seal when the approval confirmation email graced her inbox.
The Burgundy Zine Kickstarter campaign will give us the ability to get our merch store off the ground with stickers, apparel, handmade cards, original artwork, and more. We also see the merch store as another platform for us to collaborate with artists and musicians to sell and promote their work.
Our Kickstarter campaign officially launches on May 21 and will end on June 21. However, you can be among the first to receive a notification when The Burgundy Zine Kickstarter launches: just visit our pre-launch page and make sure you press “Notify me on launch!”
