Refreshingly indie and sonically hypnotizing, Manic.’s single “Gone” lures listeners in with its dreamy melody and keeps them hooked with its profound lyrics.

A Bit of Context…

Manic. was formed by writer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Nicholas “Bedhead” Banos in 2015, according to their official website.

In Sept. 2019, Manic. debuted the single “Gone” on Spotify, Apple Music, and Bandcamp.

With a swift snap, “Gone” immediately clicks with the listener through its soft, beat-driven instrumental.

Banos’ melodic vocals sweep over the track harmoniously with the lyrics, “If you never meant what you said, / You never should have promised, / Did you change your mind or forget? / I might think myself to death.”

The tempo picks up quickly yet smoothly during the chorus, introducing more synth and pop elements that complement the overall melancholy tone of the track.

“You’re only honest when you have had a few,
Lately I look you straight in the eyes, but I still can’t find you,
Oooo,
But I still can’t find you.”

“Gone” is rhythmic and entrancing in its entirety, utilizing pop elements to convey honesty and heartache that truly resonates with the listener. The track as a whole is full and well-rounded with an ambient and floaty melody that’s grounded by its beat and strung together by Banos’ gentle vocals.

Don’t be surprised if “Gone” sends you into a trance… Or a week of looping the single non-stop.
