Willow’s Garden Cafe is a locally owned establishment that offers a variety of fresh, delicious, breakfast, lunch, and pastries – all made with locally grown, fair trade products – and served with love.

Willow’s Garden Cafe is nestled in the heart of Media, Pa, a quaint town with a whole lot of culture.

Conveniently located on S Jackson St and owned by no other than Willow Culbertson herself, the cafe has been happy to serve the town for over four years now.

Willow’s Garden cafe serves breakfast from 8 A.M. to 6 P.M. and lunch from 10 A.M. to 6 P.M. every day of the week, in addition to their mouth-watering desserts and drinks.

“We incorporate locally grown produce and ingredients whenever we can,” Culbertson said. “Whatever isn’t from the area is a fair trade product – like coffee, for example. Coffee isn’t locally grown [here in Pennsylvania], so we use La Colombe, which is fair trade and organic.”

For those who aren’t familiar, La Colombe is a US coffee roaster based right out of the city of brotherly love, Philadelphia, which is only a stone’s throw away from Willow’s Garden Cafe in Media.

“Even our chocolate bunnies – which are made by hand – are made with fair trade chocolate,” Culbertson added. “It costs us a bit more, but it’s worth it.”

Culbertson also said their honey is also from a local source.

The atmosphere and quality are a perfect reflection of Culbertson’s core values. The establishment is adorned with plants, an adorable fountain, and encourages patrons to bring home a slice of nature with their seeds.

During my visit, I ordered their house salad: a blend of fresh greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, and topped with an aged-balsamic vinaigrette.

The ingredients tasted as fresh as Culbertson had promised and were beautifully complemented by the vinaigrette.

Needless to say, it definitely hit the spot.

“[Being apart of the Media community] is like building a little village,” Culbertson said. “We love to support local businesses however we can.”
