Please Note

This installment of Strain of the Week was originally scheduled for release on Aug 26, 2019.

However, due to unforeseen circumstances outlined in this announcement, we had to delay our routine installment of Strain of the Week in order to focus on releasing The Burgundy Zine #8: Reflections by Aug 28.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Otto Disposable Vape Pen Review

“The Otto Disposable Vape Pen is sleek, easy to operate, and very convenient,” XtaSeay said.

Unlike many other disposable vape pens available at dispensaries in Pa, Otto has a see-through tank. This allows you to see how much it came with and get a better idea of how much you are using the pen.

I also find it reassuring, as other disposable vape pens often leave me wondering whether I truly ran out of oil or if the battery died first. Being able to see through the oil tank gives me the confirmation that I got the most use out of my pen.

“It also lasts a pretty long time, especially for a 300mg disposable pen,” XtaSeay said. “I’ve had other disposables run out in three or four days, but this one has lasted me over a week.”

The strain itself has a perfumey, somewhat flowery taste and an equally as earthy smell to it. It’s as smooth, sweet, and as relaxing as taking a stroll through a meadow.

“It’s definitely earthy with a hint of sweetness in the after taste,” XtaSeay agreed. “The Myrcene also gives it a bit of a peppery taste.”

Overall, he said the flavor combined with the power of the disposable pen provides a very smooth hit.

“Otto isn’t too intense,” XtaSeay continued. “It’s calming, pain relieving, and anxiety reducing. The strain helps me feel both productive and independent.”

I, too, found Otto to be very anxiolytic. Almost immediately after my initial vaporization, I could feel a wave of wellness crash over my entire body.

Bug’s Two Cents

I couldn’t be more impressed by how long Otto has lasted, the efficiency of the vape pen, and the strain itself.

Otto isn’t overwhelming, but it certainly isn’t underwhelming, either. The strain is very physically and mentally relaxing. It liberated my body from aches and pain without leaving me feeling “couch-locked.” Otto is also a great digestive aid and alleviates the discomfort associated with gastrointestinal conditions.

Cognitively, the strain puts me in a much calmer state of mind. Not to the extent of being completely apathetic to my responsibilities, but calm enough to actually focus on my work without being bogged down by irrelevant worries or existential stressors.

It’s a great strain of daytime use, as it won’t leave you feeling overly sedated and may actually motivate you to get more work done.

I’d highly recommend Rythm’s Otto Disposable Vape Pen to patients who are looking for a strain with both anxiolytic and pain alleviating effects.

XtaSeay’s Two Cents

4 out of 5 rocket powers

“I give Otto a four because there’s not really a ‘peak’ to the effects of the strain,” XtaSeay said. “The cognitive effects are more consistent throughout, rather than peaking in the beginning.”

He continue to explain that Otto is a 2:1; two parts THC and one part CBD.

“That entails that there’s less THC than your typical pen, with Otto containing 50.9% THC. It’s CBD counterpart also helps balance out it’s properties.”

Although it’s a 2:1, he said the pen is still an effective medicine for patients without triggering any of the side effects that may come with higher doses of THC.

“In my opinion, it’s not all about the THC,” he continued. “You don’t need a whole lot of it to get the job done. The benefits of a strain truly rely more on the entourage effect.”

XtaSeay also noted that Otto contains terpenes that aren’t as common in other strains.

“Ocimene is not a terpene I see very often,” he said. “But it’s a strong stimulant with uplifting properties.”

XtaSeay explained that it can be hard to determine what terpene you’re feeling because they all blend, so finding a strain that works for you really boils down to experimenting with different blends of terpenes.

“As a whole, the terpenes and cannabinoids in Otto work really nicely together,” he concluded.
