The Institute for Childhood Preparedness just announced how they’re going to continue empowering early childhood professionals around the globe: they’re gearing up to release online training courses, which you can register for now.
“We are beyond excited to launch our online training courses,” said executive director Andy Roszak. “Our mission is to ensure that those entrusted to care for children are as prepared as possible.”
“We are always looking for new, innovative, and affordable ways to bring our emergency preparedness courses to early childhood professionals across the United States.”

The Institute for Childhood Preparedness is pulling from decades of experience to create high-quality content specifically tailored for the early childhood community.
“After spending 25 years in emergency preparedness, with the last five solely focused on the early childhood community, I know we are offering a unique and beneficial set of courses that are designed to empower childcare providers with resiliency and confidence,” Roszak said.
A free, 30-minute active shooter preparedness and response course will be the first available in their e-training series, according to a press release the institute released yesterday.
“Just like our in-person training, our online training courses are specifically designed for early childhood professionals and those caring for infants, toddlers, and children,” the press release states.
The online format will enable early childhood professionals to take the courses at their own pace and easily fit the training into their schedule.
“Early childhood professionals are extremely hard workers, and they have limited time to themselves after taking care of children during the workweek,” Roszak said. “We want to make things as easy as possible. Our online courses will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.”
In addition to the modules and resources available within the course, Roszak explained the institute will actively be updating the courses with the latest information.
“As new threats emerge or leading practices change, we are able to update content immediately.”

The Institute for Childhood Preparedness will be implementing new course packages with online-only training options and packages that include on-site training, as well.
“Our goal has always been to provide emergency preparedness training and resources to early childhood professionals across the United States,” Roszak explained. “We feel that our online courses will meet that goal, and reach a wide audience that we may not have connected with before.”
