Sarah Ann of Euphoria Rogue delights us with a simple, cheap, Halloween decor DIY tutorial.

Halloween is just around the corner! This is my favorite holiday, so any chance I get to do a quick, fun, cheap craft, I’ll do it.

This is a fun, easy DIY that you can do on your own, with your kids, or friends.

Items needed to create your own trick or treat Halloween decor

  • Three Cans – (I used soup cans and washed them)
  • Black Spray Paint – (No child should do this step)
  • Black Garbage Bag
  • White Paint
  • Paintbrush – (Thin brushes so you can paint on the words)
  • Styrofoam
  • Twigs (different sizes) – (Go into the bush or in your local park, do take ones on the ground so you’re not cutting branches)
  • Small Lights
  • Scissors – (Heavy Duty scissors that can cut twigs)
  • Knife

Directions

Outside: On a day when it’s not windy, lay down a garbage bag on a flat surface. Place your cans upside down so the bottom is facing upwards.  Spray each can fully, and wait till they are completely dry.

Once dry, grab your white paint along with a paintbrush. Paint “TRICK” on the first can, “OR” on the second can, and “TREAT” on the third. Let that dry.

You can get the styrofoam while you wait, cut it to fit into the cans (about 1-inch height-wise). An adult should do this step.

Take your twigs and cut them to the size you want. Stick them into the styrofoam so they’re not all over the place and may sit still.

Add your small lights, twisting them around the twigs however you want them positioned. I suggest keeping the battery part at the back of the can so it’s easier to change the battery – unless you don’t mind pulling it out of the can if you place the battery part inside. Your choice.

Guess what? You’re all done! Enjoy your new Halloween Decor!
