Hello Animal Crossing, goodbye productivity. Who needs to complete a zine or finish their college applications when they have villagers to tend to?
Am I right? …Right? Ah…ha ha… ha ha… haaa…
Weekly Recap
If you’re looking to update your TV show binge list, you’re in luck. We began this week with Cable Compare’s list of the top eight TV shows from 2010 to 2019.
On Monday, Deanna Jackson shared her personal advice for husbands whose wives are currently undergoing fertility treatments.
Then, we explored the gut microbiome and how psychedelics may affect gut health.
On Tuesday, we tuned-in to an interview with HAUNTER, a brand new pop-group with incomparable energy.
Afterward, we reviewed MusoSoup, a cutting-edge tool for distributing and obtaining music press releases.
On Wednesday, author Rebecca Amiss shared “For Better or For Worse,” a fictional short story about a woman who overcomes domestic abuse.
Trigger warning: The short-story contains descriptions of manipulation and domestic abuse that may be upsetting for some individuals. If you or a loved one are currently experiencing domestic abuse, please visit the National Domestic Violence Hotline website for support resources or call: 1-800-799-7233.
Fictional disclosure: All events and characters within “For Better or For Worse” are entirely fictional and do not reflect events that have taken place in the real world.
On Thursday, Peter gave us four key factors to consider before starting a coffee shop and we directed our Artist Spotlight towards Ada Crowe.
On Friday, we encouraged you to read an article by our editor featured on Deanna Jackson’s blog, “How Journalism Makes You a More Efficient Writer.”
Last, but most certainly far from least, we shared our first-day experiences with “Animal Crossing: New Horizons.”
Going Forward
That’s it, guys. No more zine, no more anything. We’re going to be knee-deep in the new Animal Crossing from here on out. Got a question for the editor? Sorry, her hands are superglued to the Nintendo Switch.
Just kidding… Kind of… Maybe… EHH…
In all seriousness, we’re only six days away from the release of “The Burgundy Zine #14: Healing,” which is our first bi-monthly issue.
As of yesterday, our submissions for “The Burgundy Zine #14: Healing” are closed. We’ll continue posting content throughout the week in accordance with our theme and encourage you to consider submitting content for our next issue, “The Burgundy Zine #15: Go Green.”
It has been such a pleasure to hold these discussions on healing and healthcare over the last two months. We’re truly going to miss this topic once it’s over.
We’re so grateful to everyone who helped us make this issue possible and would be thrilled to collaborate with them again in the future.
“The Burgundy Zine #14: Healing” still has a bit of a ways to go before it’s ready for release, but we’re so excited to share it with everyone.
In the meantime, you can see the zine as it comes together through the updates on our Instagram story. And if you’re in need of refreshing your playlists with some new tracks, our “Songs of the Month” playlist on Spotify has you covered.
Until next week,
