Located along the main route between Montgomery County and Northwest Philadelphia, one of the nation’s leading cannabis operators, Curaleaf, celebrated the grand opening of its 1,800 sqft City Ave dispensary on Monday.

“We are pleased to expand and strengthen our retail presence in Pennsylvania, offering our unparalleled patient care and education, as well as access to premium cannabis products,” said Curaleaf Chief Executive Officer Joe Bayern. “We look forward to serving these communities and anticipate that demand will quickly surpass projected sales in this market, as cannabis continues to gain acceptance for a variety of health and wellness needs.”

Immediately after checking in to the dispensary, patients are greeted by the highly knowledgeable, compassionate, and attentive staff. Each representative in the dispensary is genuine in their intent to assist medical marijuana patients and answer any questions you may have about their products.

Their web-based menu is easy to navigate in-stores or from your device before you arrive. Unlike other dispensary menus that I’ve browsed through before, Curaleaf’s offers a comprehensive description of each product, making the shopping experience much easier for those who are interested in the terpene and cannabinoid profile before making their purchase.

“I had a great experience,” my partner and fellow medical marijuana patient said to me after our visit on Monday. “The staff were very informative with a clear educational background on the products. They answered all of my questions and suggested some new products, too!”

The interior of the dispensary features a beautiful Philly skyline along the wall behind the check-out counters. In the waiting area, the wall features a passage on Curaleaf’s mission statement.

And what caught my eye, in particular, was the line, “There’s no such thing as a stupid question — So just ask us.” In the display cases throughout the dispensary, there are pamphlets with similar patient-focused language. It’s an incredibly welcoming and thoughtfully designed environment.

“Everything was well organized and spaced nicely throughout the dispensary,” my partner continued. “It’s simplistic, yet doesn’t hold back on how Curaleaf represents themselves.”

The opening of the City Ave location marks Curaleaf’s 12th dispensary in Pennsylvania and 104th location nationwide. Last week, Curaleaf also debuted its location in Horsham, Pa.

A portion of the proceeds from both opening days was donated to the Urban Affairs Coalition and Central PA Food Bank, respectively, in continuation of Curaleaf’s Feed the Block initiative.

Both locations are open Monday to Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sundays. Veterans, seniors, and first-time patients can also enjoy a discount during their visit to any of Curaleaf’s locations.

As long-time medical marijuana patients and lifelong Philadelphians, we are thrilled to welcome Curaleaf to our community and felt equally welcomed in the dispensary.
