Your Regularly Scheduled Programming Will Resume After the Break

Sometimes it takes a trip to the emergency room to realize it’s time to slow down and take a break. And that’s okay.

But that means (deep breath)… Making a few changes to our schedule that we’ve been hesitant about for the last week or two now.

The Burgundy Zine #18 will be rescheduled for release this summer. Additionally, our Tune-In Tuesdays #100 special will also be released at a later date.

HUH!?

I know, I know. It goes against every grain of my being to push back release dates or re-schedule content. Those of you bug buddies who have been part of our community for a while may recall the only zine we’ve ever delayed was The Burgundy Zine #10: Spooky Psychology due to the file corrupting the night it was scheduled for release.

It’s an uncomfortable decision to make. But I had promised to myself during our 2021 relaunch that I wouldn’t nose-dive back into a workaholic spiral of 18-hour shifts in front of my computer — especially now that I’m back in school, whereas my only responsibilities last year were running The Burgundy Zine and freelancing.

Nevertheless, I truly love what I do. As my loved ones have pointed out, “The Burgundy Zine is your baby.” I can’t help wanting to devote every waking moment doting on and tending to our platform.

However, it’s taking a toll on my health. Living with chronic illness will never be easy, per se, but putting unnecessary pressure on myself to perform at the level of someone is who is able-bodied only serves to further highlight the incongruences in my ability to function at 110-percent.

So, it’s time for me to practice what we preached last year in the July 2020 issue of our digital magazine; self-care.

Therefore, I’m taking a personal/medical leave — at least, until I finish out this spring semester (and get all of my medical procedures out of the way).

So, Is This Another Hiatus?

Not quite; unlike our hiatus last fall, I will continue to periodically maintain our email and website. We will continue posting content and interviews that were scheduled in advance, as well.

And if I happen to slip in a blog article here or there, don’t be too surprised. I’ve never been good at taking time off. 😉

This isn’t a farewell by any means, either. Just think of it as a brief pause or a light intermission.

When is the New Release Date for The Burgundy Zine #18?

We haven’t confirmed an official date yet, but we’re considering either June 28 or July 28, 2021.

The Tune-In Tuesdays #100 special will likely be released in June or July, as well.

What About the Other Quarterly Issues Scheduled for Release This Year?

Considering that we’re rescheduling The Burgundy Zine #18: Imagination Recaptured, we will either shift to a bi-annual (twice a year) or annual format for the duration of 2021.

Anything Else I Should Know?

Yes. Ravens are reportedly stealing groceries from Alaskan Costco shoppers. If you live in Alaska and enjoy shopping at Costco, you have been warned.

In all seriousness though, thank you for your patience, kindness, and understanding. We love you.
