sitting along the precipice,
my feet dangle and i lock eyes with the abyss,
my stomach tangles,
my thoughts are scrambled,

and so i let them disperse,
bury my fears deep within the earth,
sow my sorrows and sprout from the hurt,

dirty fingers push my hair behind my ears,
and i wonder if this’ll drag on for a few more years,
where do my answers lie?
are my prayers just a lullaby?

bye bye, i’m biding my time,
bitting new holes in my tongue,
letting the words linger in my larynx,
i just wish i knew where to go next.
