As I emerge from the cavern I’ve confined myself to, fingers locked to my half-correct typing position, legs twisted into puzzles, eyes glowing with a signature bloodshot glare, I realize that I’ve laid out over 50 percent of “The Burgundy Zine #16: Skin Care, Self Care” in less than one week.
Welcome to the final stretch, bug buddies… And boy, is it about time I stood up and did some stretches myself.
Weekly Recap
We began this week by reflecting on the productive and enriching nature of self care on Monday.
On Tuesday, we tuned-in to an interview with California-based hip-hop artist Brand New. During our discussion, we learned more about his latest single, “Be High,” which covers the day to day struggles of the pandemic and social injustices this year.
Then, we tuned-in to a review of European musical duo Divine Astronaut’s eery new single, “Voices.”
On Wednesday, we took a closer look at recent press releases from the National Institutes on Health about COVID-19.
In short, researchers have discovered little evidence that fetuses can contract the virus from infected pregnant mothers. A phase 1 trial of the vaccine also appears to safely generate an immune response in healthy adults.
Afterward, experts at Chic Sex Shop gave us advice for helping a grumpy partner.
On Thursday, Molly Carter discussed why you should consider homeschooling your child.
On Friday, poet Liliana E. Guzmán shared a spoken word poem that covers her thoughts amidst stay at home orders.
Last — but most certainly far from least — experts at Nordpass explore which passwords are forgotten most often and why.
