Nationally-recognized cannabis operator Curaleaf Holdings announced they’re opening the doors to their first Curaleaf-branded dispensary in Pennsylvania on Tuesday, Feb. 2.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held outside of the new dispensary at 7040 Jonestown Road in Harrisburg on Tuesday at 1:15 p.m.

UPDATE: Due to inclimate weather, the ribbon cutting was postponed to Wednesday, Feb. 3 at 8:00 a.m.

“We are excited to open a Curaleaf retail location in Harrisburg, offering our unparalleled patient care and education, as well as our premium cannabis products,” said Curaleaf President and CEO Joe Bayern.

The ceremony is being held in partnership with the Harrisburg Regional Chamber & Capital Region Economic Development Corporation.

It’s also open to the public, with respect to COVID-19 social distancing and safety measures. You will need a PA Medical Marijuana Card to enter the dispensary, though.

A portion of the proceeds from their grand opening will be donated to the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank in continuation of Feed the Block. This is an initiative of Curaleaf’s Corporate Social Responsibility Program, and it was developed to address food insecurity in the communities Curaleaf serves.

Curaleaf’s first PA dispensary — and 97th dispensary nationwide — is 2,750 square feet and located in the greater Harrisburg area, just off of Route 22.

The new location also has the capacity to host a double-lane curbside pickup. This will enable patients to get their medicine as safely and responsibly as possible, especially during the pandemic.

Supporting the veteran community is one of Curaleaf’s many core values, too. As such, the dispensary offers a discount to patients who are veterans, seniors, and first-time patients.

Furthermore, Curaleaf was approved as a Clinical Registrant in Pennsylvania by the Department of Health in 2020.

As a Clinical Registrant, Curaleaf is supporting the advancement of medical cannabis research by providing products, expertise, and distribution to those participating in medical cannabis studies.

Lastly, Curaleaf announced that nine Herbology retail locations in Pennsylvania will be rebranded as Curaleaf dispensaries this year. This transition follows Curaleaf’s acquisition of Grassroots in July 2020.

The hours of operation for the new Curaleaf dispensary in Harrisburg are 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sundays.

“We look forward to serving this community and anticipate that demand will quickly surpass projected sales in this market, as cannabis continues to gain acceptance for a variety of health and wellness needs,” Bayern said.
