Earlier this week, we partnered with Australian artist Natalia Bennett to sell artwork for donation to assist with relief and recovery in Australia, which is still being ravaged by “the most extreme fire disasters of our time,” says a Vox.

We encourage you to join us in assisting Australia during this crisis. For every illustration we sell, we will donate 50 percent to the North South Wales Fire Brigade for relief efforts.

Weekly Recap

We began this week with “The Power of Femininity” by Crystal Ermon, a cognitive behavioral therapist and author of “Master Your Energy.”

Then, we took a look at NASA’s plans to create sustainable habitats on other planets out of mushrooms – more specifically, their mycelia.

On Monday, Elena Shelest taught us how to make positive affirmations stick.

Next, we announced our partnership with Bennett to sell prints of her artwork, with 50 percent of the proceeds going towards the NSW Fire Brigade for relief efforts.

Afterward, we tuned-in to an interview with Ohio-based band Big Smile.

Later, we announced that chiptune composer Doctor Octoroc is launching a Kickstarter for his latest project, “Soft Bits In,” a tribute album to The Flaming Lips.

On Wednesday, S. Anne Kelln gave a first-hand account of her suicide attempt. Trigger warning: Her article discusses, suicide, mental illness, hospitalization, and child abuse.

On Thursday, The Fashionable Housewife gave us the rundown on what’s been rocking the runway this winter season in “Top 8 Fashion Trends for Winter 2020.”

Last, but most certainly not least, Erizon shared an in-depth exploration of climate change, one of the top environmental concerns from their four-chapter report.

Going Forward

Going forward, we’re just two days away from the release of “The Burgundy Zine #13: Dawn of a New Decade.” Be sure to subscribe to our email list to receive a notification the moment it goes live!

Furthermore, have two very special interviews lined up for this week’s installment of Tune-In Tuesdays, so keep an ear out.

In the meantime, head on over to Penelope Peru Photography to see photos from Final Friday at Green Engine Coffee.

And again, every bit counts. We encourage you with all of our hearts to join us in assisting Australia. If you’re interested in purchasing Bennett’s illustrations, please contact us.
